Intellectual Property Department

Our Intellectual Property Department addresses clients' requirements in the field of intellectual property rights protection and enforcement including e-commerce and information technology matters.

The Intellectual Property Department handles trademark and patent search; filing and prosecution of applications for trademark, patent, technology transfer and copyright registration; preparation, filing and prosecution of opposition proceedings (to trademark registration) and petition for cancellation of trademark/patent registrations in the Intellectual Property Office ("IPO").

The Department, in close coordination with the Firm's Litigation Department, also handles filing and prosecution of infringement and/or unfair competition cases in the regular courts and prosecution of complaints for violation of intellectual property rights before the Department of Justice and other pertinent government agencies. Other anti-counterfeiting remedies are likewise resorted to, as appropriate.

The Department is presently handling a number of Inter-Partes cases before the Intellectual Property Office's Bureau of Legal Affairs and trademark and patent infringement suits before the regular courts and the Department of Justice.

Similar services may also be provided to domestic clients who wish to protect their intellectual property rights abroad/foreign jurisdictions through the Firm's correspondent lawyers in Asia, Europe and United States.

The Firm's Intellectual Property Department is composed of the following members of our legal staff: Hosanna T. Ayson, Rio Sesinando E. Venturanza and Katherine C. Jambaro.
