Labor
The
Firm's Labor Department has extensive practice in the
area of employment and industrial relations. It is
headed by Caesar J. Poblador, and enjoys active support
of the senior lawyers, namely, Rio Sesinando E.
Venturanza, Hosanna T. Ayson, and Reno R. Gonzales, Jr.,
all of whom closely supervise and monitor the actual
work performed by assistant lawyers, namely Katherine C. Jambaro,
Sherwin T. de Peralta and Jonna O. Guiang. The
Labor Department provides clients with all-around legal
services, from preparing and reviewing employment
contracts, manuals of company rules and regulations, and
consultancy agreements and giving advice on problematic
issues, such as retrenchment and deadlocks in collective
bargaining, as well as those arising from mergers and
dissolution of companies. The department also assists
clients in undertaking company-level procedures
involving disciplinary action and the company's
grievance procedures. When company proceedings are
questioned before the National Labor Relation
Commission, the department handles the resulting
litigation which ranges from such issues as suspension
and dismissal of employees, to strikes and lockouts.
